Player Down - Friends of Joey Mathewson Fund
Updated: 06/28/2010 at 8:46 PM
We have a player down on the field and we need your assistance!
As many of you already know, and for those who don't, one our Flag football players, Joey Mathewson has been in the hospital for several weeks in a medically induced coma.
Joey became suddenly ill on April 19, 2010 and was rushed to the Somerset Medical Center by ambulance. They
performed tests but were not able to determine the problem, so they transferred him to Robert Wood Johnson for further testing and since that time he has been in intensive care in a medically induced coma. He unfortunately at this time does not have a diagnosis or prognosis despite numerous test and consultations with doctors across the country. Each time they attempt to bring him out of the coma he begins to display seizure activity and once again needs to be induced back into a coma.
This has been a long and painful process for his parents and family.
We are asking most importantly that you keep him in your thoughts and prayers. His parents, Kasey and Joe have not left his side and they are now experiencing financial difficulties as a result of this situation.
You can assist by making a donation to help Joey's family. You can make a donation deposit at the TD Bank, 380 Route 206, Hillsborough in the account of "Friends of Joey Fund" or you can make a check out and mail it to the "Friends of Joey Fund", c/o
